So, I am aware that we are a few weeks away from Fall, which I am so excited about because it’s my FAVORITE time of the year and I literally look forward to Fall all year long! But, living here in the South, it’s still going to be relatively hot once Fall does arrive, so with that being said, I decided to go ahead and share my makeup routine for dewy, glowing skin with y’all. You can use this products any time of the year to achieve that gorgeous glow we all love.
During the Summer I like to use more dewy foundations, luminous primers, lots of shimmer and a lot of the time I like a bright lip! So, below I am going to share what products I use to achieve a glowing/dewy makeup look.
I will give multiple options per product and include what shade I am using for reference.
It is so important to use an SPF every single day whether it is Summer or Winter. I really love this one by CeraVe. It does have a sunscreen scent so if you’re not into that then this one may not be for you. Their skincare line is super nice, and I have used their moisturizers for a long time. This moisturizer is great for normal-dry-acne prone skin. It is light-weight and non-greasy which I love. It has hyaluronic acid in it & an SPF of 30. I use this right after I wash & tone my face.
I absolutely love this face primer. It has an SPF of 30 just like the moisturizer, so you can choose to use one or the other or use both like I do for extra sun protection. What I love about this primer for one is the smell…holy goodness this stuff smells incredible y’all. If they had this scent in a candle or perfume I would have it. This primer actually blurs away your pores, lines & wrinkles, giving your skin a smooth canvas for your makeup application. So, after I moisturize I take 2 pumps of this primer and smooth it all over my face.
I love to use this Becca Cosmetics liquid highlighter after I prime for a natural, all over, glow from within. I love having a glowy complexion all summer long, and you can even use this if you have no makeup on for a radiant glow. I apply a few pumps of this to my damp beauty blender & dab it all over my face just as you would applying foundation. Their are lots of different shades other than the pearl, this is just the one I choose to use because I have fair skin. Also- If you use a matte foundation but still want some glow then mix a few pumps of this with your foundation on the back of your hand!
If you’ve followed me for awhile on Instagram then you should know that I love this foundation SO much. It is such an amazing formula for a drugstore foundation. I mix the shades Porcelain and Ivory together to get my perfect match. This foundation blends seamlessly into your skin, and it gives you a medium coverage. It’s non-comedogenic so it will not clog your pores. If you have dry skin and have never tried this, then grab it asap because you’ll be in love. I have normal skin & this stuff is magical to me! It gives you a dewy glow, but nothing too much to where you look greasy. I can’t say enough good things about this foundation, and best part is it’s only $7.99
If you are looking for a lighter alternative to a foundation then the IT Cosmetics CC + Illumination is a must! I am in the shade FAIR and I tend to use this when we go to the beach or if I am just wanting a more natural look for the day. It has an SPF of 50 which is amazing. (I’m crazy about sunscreen + you’ll grow to learn that lol) This is a full coverage CC cream which I love, so it’s not as heavy as a foundation, but still will cover up what you want.
My FAVORITE concealer of all time. I am sure you have heard of this before because almost everyone uses it. It truly is the best I have ever used. I suffer from dark circles #insomina and this is the only concealer I have found that completely covers them with one application. I use the shade Fair Neutral. If you have never tried this I highly recommend it. A little goes a long way, so it will last you awhile. It is full coverage to the max! It will cover any imperfections you have from, a zit, to redness, to dark circles. Holy grail product right here. So, I apply this after my foundation. I apply it under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, my cupid’s bow, my chin and a tiny amount in the center of my forehead.
This concealer is perfect dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. It is only $7 at Ulta, and I have been using this a lot more lately vs the Tarte because it’s way cheaper and does the job! It is full coverage and they have a huge range of colors to choose from so you shouldn’t have trouble finding a perfect match for yourself. I use the shades C1, C2 and C3. I use C2 & C3 first, blend that all in with my beauty blender and then use the lighter shade C1 to highlight under my eyes, bridge of my nose, chin & cupid’s bow.
This is a cheaper alternative to the Laura Mercier powder that I have been loving recently. You get the same silky, finish which I love. This powder brightens your skin and has hyaluronic acid which will give you a smoother appearance and this will not clog your pores! It is lightweight and doesn’t dry out your skin! I get asked this question literally all the time and it is “Should I be setting my makeup with a setting powder after foundation and concealer”? My answer is always 100% YES. I know there are people who don’t set their foundation and if that works for you and you like the result then that’s perfectly fine. However, setting your face after applying foundation and concealer will make a tremendous difference in terms of how the rest of your powders go on. So, if you haven’t tried it, then I suggest giving it a shot, so you can see how much a difference it makes. I take my damp beauty blender that I use to apply my foundation and concealer and dip it into some powder and set my under eyes with that and my t-zone. Then, I set the rest of my face with a big fluffy brush.
Alright, so…for the cheapest of cheap setting powder this is the BEST one I have found. It works so well, you can get it at Walmart or Target. I use the translucent shade. It does have a strong scent which I personally don’t mind, but if that is something you don’t like then make sure to check the package before you buy it to make sure you grab an unscented one if they have it!
I love this brow pencil so much and this is the one I have been using a lot more recently. I think it is a great dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow definer pencil. I use the shade blonde, and I really like this blonde shade because it’s not too ashy, but more light brown, which is what I prefer for my brows. This makes filling in your brows so quick and easy. I also really love the spoolie on the end! Best part is it’s only $7.99.
This is one of the best selling mascaras around, and if you have never tried it then you need to NOW! This is one of my go-to mascaras because I love the wand. It gives your lashes the best volume & length so much so that you will never want to use anything else. This does not clump whatsoever and does not transfer. Highly recommend my loves.
The holy grail of all mascara for me. No matter what I l always go back to this mascara or repurchase once I am out. It is that good ya’ll. I have used the original L’Oréal Voluminous mascara and I love that one also, but once I used this I never went back to the original because this one to me is way better because it gives you super black lashes which I LOVE. Best drugstore mascara out there.
This was the first high end bronzer I have ever purchased & it has been one of my favorites ever sense! For my Summer makeup I like to layer bronzer, so I go in first with a matte bronzer & this is usually the one I use because it’s not too warm. It is very buildable and blends well. I love it!
I love to use a shimmer bronzer after my Hoola bronzer to give a little sun kissed glow to my face. I don’t like bronzers that are too glittery but more of a soft glow. Also, it smells like Summer so it’s perfect for this time of year. It’s super buttery & silky which I love. I use the light bronzer shade since I do have fair skin, but they do have 3 other shades to choose from.
I have recently been LOVING Pixi products! I picked up this highlighter from them a few months ago at Target & holy crap, it is SO good! It is super pigmented, creamy & melts right into your skin. There are 2 different highlighters & the one I use is the Delicate Dew. I usually mix these 2 together & highlight the bridge of my nose, my cupid’s bow & my cheek bones!
I personally love a barbie pink blush for the Summer! This one is one of my absolute favorites. This is the shade beam and I think this shade would look gorgeous on any skin tone. It is oil free, fragrance free & cruelty free! This is a luminous blush, so if you like a more matte finish then this might not be for you. It blends out beautifully!
One of my favorite eyeshadow palettes & I think it is perfect for a Summer makeup look or truly any makeup look because the colors are stunning. There are 12 shades in the palette & I love that you get both matte & shimmer finishes. You get achieve almost any look from this palette so I always recommend this one if you’re looking to invest in a good palette because it’s so versatile. My favorite shades for a summer look are: Flower Child, Funny Girl & Sweetheart.
This one is an oldie, but a goodie and one of my favorite pink lippies ever! This is a creamy finish lipstick infused with shea butter so it keeps your lips super moisturized. They of course have a ton of different colors, but I love a gorgeous pink lip for Summer.
This is the perfect beachy, pinky-nude lip. I am in love with this shade because it can go great with almost any makeup look. This is a moisture rich lippie and is super pigmented & long lasting. Highly recommend this shade if you’re looking for that perfect nude.
Lastly for Summer lip colors is this beyond gorgeous bright, coral shade from Flower Beauty. It is only $8.99 and works so well. If you are looking for a pop of color for your lips then this is the shade to get! I absolutely love it and think its so fun for the Summer time.
I am sure you have heard about this settiing spray before because it is a very popular product! I LOVE this setting spray so much and it can be used in so many different ways. It is so nice for Summer because it gives you such a gorgeous, dewy finish. Even if you use a matte foundation & all matte powders, just spray this all over your face when you’re done with your makeup and TA-DA, dewy, glowy skin! It can be used under or over your makeup and you will still achieve a luminous glow. To me, this is so worth the splurge.
Lastly, the best setting spray out there (to me). I used this setting spray on my wedding day to set my makeup and it did not bulge in our 100 degree heat here in Charleston. This stuff is the real deal! This keeps your makeup in place for up to 16 hours! Definitely a must have for Summer!
I can not say enough good things about Sigma makeup brushes ya’ll. These brushes are honestly the best I have ever used. I noticed such a difference when I started using these veres my other makeup brushes. The quality is incredible. They don’t shed, and they blend out your products like a dream. My makeup has never looked more flawless. I think this brush set is a great investment if you’re just trying out Sigma. If you ever try out there brushes, be sure to use my code BLONDEBELLE to save some money at checkout!
If you made it to the end thank you SO much for reading through all that I use for my Ultimate Glow Makeup Routine. I know this was lengthy, but I love to make sure I list dupes of products and lots of options for ya’ll. I also really love to give you my honest opinion on all of these products so you know what to expect if you want to purchase one.
